Remote Mouse – Terms of Use

These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Remote Mouse mobile applications, desktop Helper software, and related services ("Service"), provided by Emote Interactive Studio ("we", "us", or "our").

By downloading, installing, or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

If you do not agree, you must stop using the Service.

Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which explains how we collect and process personal data.

1. License to Use the Service

We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use Remote Mouse for personal and lawful purposes, in accordance with these Terms.

You may not:

• Copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works of the Service
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to access the source code
• Remove or alter any copyright, trademark, or proprietary notices
• Use the Service for commercial purposes without our permission

All intellectual property rights in Remote Mouse remain owned by Emote Interactive Studio.

2. User Account and Security

Some features may require creating an account or providing personal information.

You agree to:

• Provide accurate account information
• Keep your login credentials secure
• Not share your account with others

You are responsible for all activities under your account.

We may suspend or terminate accounts involved in abuse, fraud, security violations, or attempts to disrupt the Service.

3. Purchases and Subscriptions

Remote Mouse offers both one-time purchases and subscription-based plans, depending on platform and region.

• On iOS and Android, the free version includes basic features, and users can unlock Pro features through either a subscription or a one-time lifetime purchase.
• A separate paid iOS app, Remote Mouse Pro, is also available as a one-time purchase that permanently unlocks all Pro features.

Payments, refunds, and billing cycles are managed by the relevant app store (Apple App Store or Google Play).

Subscriptions renew automatically unless canceled according to the app store's policies.

We may change pricing or introduce new paid features, but will always clearly communicate what is being charged.

4. Local Network Connectivity

Remote Mouse functions primarily through your local network (LAN).

You acknowledge that:

• Proper functionality requires a compatible Wi-Fi or network environment
• We are not responsible for issues caused by routers, firewall settings, carrier restrictions, public/hotel networks, VLAN separation, or unstable connections
• Control data (mouse, keyboard, media commands) stays within the LAN and does not pass through our servers

Your network environment is outside our control, and we are not liable for connection-related issues.

5. Software Updates

We may provide updates to improve features, fix issues, or maintain compatibility.

You agree that:

• Some features may require updating the app or desktop Helper
• We are not obligated to maintain backward compatibility with older systems
• We may modify, suspend, or discontinue parts of the Service at any time

You should install updates promptly to ensure continued functionality.

6. Third-Party Services

Remote Mouse uses third-party services such as:

• Google Play Services
• Google AdMob
• Firebase Analytics
• Firebase Crashlytics
• RevenueCat

These services may process limited data as described in our Privacy Policy.

We are not responsible for the content, policies, or actions of third-party services.

7. Prohibited Activities

You agree NOT to:

• Attempt to reverse engineer or bypass security features
• Use the Service to interfere with networks or devices
• Distribute malware or engage in harmful activities
• Misuse the Service to harass or damage others
• Scan, probe, or analyze Remote Mouse protocols without authorization
• Use the Service in violation of applicable laws

We may take action, including account suspension or legal steps, against misuse.

8. Intellectual Property

All trademarks, logos, software code, design elements, images, and related assets are the exclusive property of Emote Interactive Studio.

You may not use our intellectual property without prior written permission.

9. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis.

We do not guarantee that the Service will be:

• Error-free
• Uninterrupted
• Compatible with all devices, networks, or systems
• Free from security vulnerabilities

Your use of the Service is at your own discretion and risk.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law:

• We are not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages
• We are not responsible for data loss, network failures, device issues, or misconfigurations
• Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid for the relevant purchase (if any)

Some jurisdictions may not allow certain limitations; in such cases, the applicable limitation will apply to the fullest extent allowed.

11. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to the Service without prior notice if:

• You violate these Terms
• You attempt to interfere with the Service
• You engage in fraudulent, abusive, or harmful behavior

Upon termination, your right to use the Service immediately ends.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time.

Changes take effect once posted on this page.

Continued use of the Service constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

13. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.

Any disputes shall be resolved exclusively through the courts of Hong Kong SAR.
